Fabian Saucedo
Teaching Artist
Fabian “Farbeon” Saucedo has been a teaching artist with Literature to Life since 2015. As a community-based Hip Hop artist, educator and agent of change, Farbeon works to develop pedagogy that moves beyond high-stakes testing and bridges the gap between the arts, academics and creative youth development. Farbeon has taught poetry, performance, theater, music production, song-writing, digital media/film and photography at high schools, universities and community centers throughout the United States and abroad. His work as a cultural diplomat for the U.S. State Department through programs such as Arts Envoy and American Music Abroad has allowed him to teach and perform throughout the world including but not limited to Germany, Sweden, Indonesia, Thailand, Iraq, Ertirea, South Africa, and Liberia. Farbeon also teaches Hip Hop Theater at the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Whether on stage, in the booth, behind the lens of a camera or in the classroom Farbeon is dedicated to using the arts to build culture and community, to bring about dialogue and mutual understanding and to pave the way for the next generation of cultural entrepreneurs and global ARTivists.
