Alex’s Story

(Example Story 2)

One Saturday afternoon, I decided to build the biggest Lego tower I had ever made. I worked on it for a long time, carefully stacking each block. My brother wanted to help, but I told him I could do it by myself. I wanted everyone to see that I built it alone.

When the tower was almost as tall as me, I reached for one more block. My elbow bumped the table, and the whole tower came crashing down with a loud bang. Blocks rolled all over the floor. I felt my eyes fill with tears because all my hard work was gone.

I thought my brother would laugh or tell me, "I told you so." Instead, he sat down next to me. He picked up a few blocks and said, "Let's build an even better one together." We worked side by side, taking turns choosing the best blocks. We talked, laughed, and even made up funny stories about the tower being a giant castle.

When we finished, the new tower was taller and stronger than the first one. I was proud of it, but I was even happier that my brother had helped me. I realized that doing everything by myself wasn't as fun as doing it with my brother.
