Emma’s Story

(Example Story 1)

A butterfly landed on my finger today. It was light as a feather and so colorful. I whispered “Hello” to it because I thought loud voices might scare it away. When it flew off my hand and up towards the sun, I followed it with my eyes until it became a tiny speck in the sky.

The next day, I saw the butterfly again. I noticed it liked to fly by the flowers my mom planted in the garden, so I waited for it there. I watched as it fluttered from flower to flower, and eventually it landed on my arm. I looked closer at its wings and saw colors that I didn’t notice the day before. It stayed on my arm for longer this time and made me feel happy.

Later that night, I took out my markers and colored pencils to draw the butterfly as best as I could. I hung the drawing up in my room so I could always remember it.
